Chef Jasper Inc. protects the personal information it holds. This page explains, in plain terms, how we manage it: who is responsible, how long we keep it, who can access it, how to exercise your rights and how to make a complaint. To learn what information we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy.

How we keep and destroy information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the reason we collected it, or longer if a law requires it. After that, we destroy it securely or make it anonymous.

Roles and responsibilities of our staff

  • Person in charge of the protection of personal information: approves the policies, answers requests and complaints, assesses incidents, and is consulted at the start of any project involving personal information.
  • Management: provides the resources needed and makes sure service providers sign written agreements that protect the information.
  • Staff members: access only the information they need for their work, follow our security instructions and report any possible incident to the person in charge right away.
  • Service providers (hosting, customer relationship management, site measurement): process information only on our behalf and on our instructions, under a written agreement.

Before we communicate information outside Québec, or launch a new system or electronic service that processes it, we carry out a privacy impact assessment.

  2. We acknowledge receipt and reply in writing within 30 days.
  3. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec: www.cai.gouv.qc.ca.

Confidentiality incidents

A confidentiality incident is any unauthorized access to, use or communication of personal information, or its loss. If an incident happens, we act quickly to reduce the risk of harm and prevent it from happening again. If the incident presents a risk of serious harm, we notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the people concerned. We record every incident in a register.
