Kitchen staff, software and robotics, working together.

The Chef Jasper ecosystem

Four connected capabilities behind every meal.

The robot cooks, Food Flow guides every plate, and sensors verify it before it leaves.

01 Automation

Small batches, cooked to the gram

In a traditional kitchen, every extra recipe costs more labour, so residences are limited in what they are able to offer. Our Robotic Unit cooks small batches at once across nine stations, producing up to 36 recipes per mealtime, with an intelligent scheduler timing every component so each dish lands on time and within food safety standards. It does not replace people; it takes over the technical work that demands the most precision.

Benefits

Personalization made affordable, and simple.

  • More meal variety
  • Consistent output
  • Reduced plate waste
  • On time, every service
Ingredients weighed to the gram before cooking

02 Guidance

The expertise lives in the system, not in one person

With turnover above 40% in senior living kitchens, expertise disappears as people walk out the door. Food Flow carries that expertise itself, guiding every station from the robotic hub through to plating. Each employee sees only what their task requires, so fewer decisions means fewer errors. Allergens, textures and preferences live in the Resident Profile Manager, visible everywhere within seconds, so there are no verbal handoffs.

Benefits

A new hire follows the same validated process a veteran would.

  • Consistent output
  • Fewer kitchen errors
  • Every dietary need met

03 Control

Verified before it leaves the kitchen

When a complaint comes in, it is hard for traditional kitchens to trace it back to the root and improve. Food Flow ends in validation: every plate is photographed before it leaves, so any complaint traces back to the plate and the people who made it. Plates are weighed and photographed again after service, QR-matched to the resident, and an in-house AI model determines what was actually eaten. This enables us to flag low consumption to care teams and adjust our offer to better meet resident preferences.

Benefits

Real-time consumption data for care staff and verification at every step of service.

  • Full traceability
  • Reduced plate waste
  • Every dietary need met

04 Chef Jasper Software Suite

Production and consumption, predicted rather than guessed

Senior living kitchens get locked into standardized supplier menus that rarely reflect the cultures at the table. Our head chef breaks free of that, building flavourful, complex recipes in the Recipe & Menu Manager, each tagged by allergen, diet, texture and preference, then composed into menus from our own database rather than a catalogue. The Inventory Manager orders the exact amounts needed from resident profiles and forecast production, and Food Flow turns it into the daily plan.

Benefits

Your recipes, your cultures, with far less ingredient waste.

  • Chef-led menus
  • Precise ordering
  • Reduced plate waste

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How the robotics and software work in your kitchen.

See all questions

Where was the technology developed?

This is a “Made in Canada” solution. The entire technology stack is developed in house by our team of mechanical, electrical, and computer engineers at our Montreal headquarters.

Is the unit certified to handle food?

Yes. All components that may come into contact with food are NSF certified.

Is everything cooked by the robot?

No. To maximize variety, a percentage of mains and sides are cooked manually by our kitchen staff, guided and verified by our system. We generally require a combi oven and a skillet, and may occasionally use a stovetop.

How fast does the robot cook?

The robot is not faster than humans. Cooking is scheduled by the system so dishes are ready at the right time: longer shelf-life dishes are prepared first, and a la minute dishes are timed to finish right at meal service.

What happens if the robot breaks or stops working?

Robotic functions are monitored at all times. If something goes wrong, our on-site team can correct it and our engineers can provide remote support; the robot can recover from most errors and resume cooking once resolved. We keep spare parts for most components, maintain cellular backup if the local network goes down, and have a multi-day plan to cook an alternate menu without the robot in the event of a major failure or extended power outage.
